PrimeVigilance Joins the Pistoia Alliance to Help Shape the Future of Drug Safety

PrimeVigilance, an Ergomed Group company and the world’s leading specialist pharmacovigilance (PV) provider, announced that it has joined the Pistoia Alliance, the global not-for-profit working to lower barriers to innovation in life science and healthcare R&D through pre-competitive collaboration.

As a specialist safety provider, PrimeVigilance brings deep, day-to-day operational expertise to challenges the Pistoia Alliance sets out to solve through collaboration such as its drug safety initiatives. For example, in 2025 the Alliance launched two pharmacovigilance initiatives in response to member demand: the AI in Safety & PV Community of Experts (CoE), exploring how to apply AI safely and effectively in PV workflows, and the Pharmacovigilance Systems & Processes Standards (PS²) project, establishing standard requirements for PV systems to reduce duplicated effort and foster innovation.

The Pistoia Alliance brings together more than 200 member organizations — including 18 of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies by R&D expenditure, alongside CROs, technology providers, academic institutions, and patient groups — collaborating as equals across a portfolio of pre-competitive projects. As a member, PrimeVigilance will engage in the Alliance’s projects, communities, and events, with a particular focus on its pharmacovigilance and AI-in-safety work.
